About the book

This project was a collaboration between myself and the author. The author is a minister and formerly worked at a parish in Mexico. This was the second book he has written with both English and Spanish translations, to appeal to some of the growing Hispanic population. He actually wrote this story in 1965, for a college project and had some sketches of the various cacti and a vision for how the story may eventually be visualized. I had met Greg through my mother and, after a few phone calls and emails, we decided to get together and try to bring the story to life. It was an incredible challenge and absolute honor and pleasure to work with Greg and his wife, Krista on this project. All illustrations were created with Pimga Micron pens, Prisma Color colored pencils and Rembrandt Pastels.
